1st ArtMarks Workshop with Lael Williams

Lael focuses on attendees at first workshop

In January, the first of three visual arts workshops for educators and parent volunteers was presented at Edmonds Community College.

Lael Williams, Arts Educator and one of the main authors of the ArtMarks curriculum discussed her series with a focus on the elements of PATTERN and SHAPE. Shape is an exciting element of Art/Design and important to the more complex elements of Color and Space. Found object printmaking and collage was used as the media for the mini-lessons during this workshop.

For more information about future workshops, Edmonds School District staff members and local parent volunteers/docents please email piperl@edmonds.wednet.edu

The ArtMarks Workshops with Lael Williams are supported by a Community Grant by the EAF Foundation.

The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation is pleased to support the Community Workshop (formerly the pARTner’s Education group), a group that includes the cities of Edmonds and Lynnwood, Edmonds Community College, Edmonds District 15 and at large community representation (specifically targeted for under-represented groups). This group has taken the work and projects they have collectively developed over the past five years and created a structure for support for both schools and community groups interested in arts education.

When ArtMarks was originally made available to teachers in the Edmonds School District, the EAFF provided funding in support of production costs.
