Part II ArtMarks Workshops

Students work on exercise on dimension and proportion

Part II of the ArtMarks workshops with Lael Williams was held Saturday February 12, 2011 at Edmonds Community College.

The focus of the second workshop was the elements – Space and Drawing. Drawing basics were used to create a final composition using concepts from the element – Space. Drawing tools were the media focus.

One more workshop is planned for Saturday March 5th, 9am to 12pm, at Edmonds Community College.

The focus for the third workship will be the element – Color. Using knowledge and skills from the previous workshops, participants will learn color basics using watercolor and complete a 6″x6″ composition in watercolor.

Lael Williams prepares another element for class discussion.

The ArtMarks Workshops with Lael Williams are supported by a Community Grant by the EAF Foundation.

The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation is pleased to support the Community Workshop (formerly the pARTner’s Education group), a group that includes the cities of Edmonds and Lynnwood, Edmonds Community College, Edmonds District 15 and at large community representation (specifically targeted for under-represented groups). This group has taken the work and projects they have collectively developed over the past five years and created a structure for support for both schools and community groups interested in arts education.

When ArtMarks was originally made available to teachers in the Edmonds School District, the EAFF provided funding in support of production costs.
