2011 Scholarship Students

The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation (EAFF) annually provides university level visual arts scholarships to students living within the boundaries of the Edmonds School District as well as students in the Visual Arts program of Edmonds Community College. This year a total of $19,500 was awarded to twenty-one students.

New Applicants from area High Schools:
Taylor Callaway, graduating from Edmonds Woodway HS will attend Boston University. She received the “Anna E. Sambataro Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship” provided by the Sambataro Family Foundation and selected using the EAF Foundation criteria.

Devin Maloney, graduating from Meadowdale HS will attend the University of Washington. Spencer Shores, also from Meadowdale HS will attend Cornish College of the Arts.

Students selected from the Edmonds Community College Visual Arts Program: Juan Valdez, Kelley Hefflinger, Jakob Faram and Benjamin Vanderwerff will continue their schooling at Edmonds Community College and Julie Zappone will transfer to the University of Washington.

Students who have been awarded previous scholarships and received renewals this year are: Elise Butters and Mariya Dudyshyn, both attending Cornish College of the Arts; Bryn Fraker attending California Institute of the Arts; Erinn McGraw and Llyra de la Mere, both attending the University of Washington; Ling Chun at the Art Institute of Chicago; Guillermo Zapata at Edmonds Community College, Aehdan McLean attending Digipen Institute of Technology; Stephany Dentry attending the Art Institute of Seattle; Christopher Seto attending Emerson College in Boston; Sara Portesan at Whitman College; Audi Asaf with Goddard College; and Rachel Myers at the International Academy of Design and Technology.

We were pleased to receive a grant of $1,000 from Union Bank to increase the amount of scholarships given this year. The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation greatly appreciates their contribution to the future artists in our community.
