The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation annually provide post-secondary education visual arts scholarships to outstanding students, age 17 or older, who currently have a permanent address within the boundaries of the Edmonds School District. Those students who reside within the boundaries of the school district but are educated through other programs than the public schools are also welcome to apply. The applicant must be pursuing full time post-secondary education in the visual arts at an accredited art school, college or university in the next academic school year, and must have graduated from high school by August of the the year of application.
All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award, conditional upon acceptance of the student to and accredited art school, college, or university. The scholarships are paid to the accredited university, college, or professional school the student will be attending. The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation Scholarship Committee, using established evaluation criteria, will select students based on a review of applications, individual interviews and portfolio presentations.
Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors with interest in the visual arts; students selected from the Edmonds Community College Art Department; and college level visual arts students renewing their scholarships. Students may re-apply each year that they remain in a visual arts curriculum.
Funding of these scholarships begins with the support of volunteers, patrons of the arts, and visitors to the annual Edmonds Arts Festival, now celebrating over 50 years.
